Still waiting for wax...

So with the recent hurricane(s), shipments of wax have been postponed for weeks now, and I'm COMPLETELY out! I can't finish any of my pieces! It's horrible. So I'm left with all these "nearly" finished pieces floating around and I really don't like it! Anyways, let's all hope the order comes in soon, and I learn my lesson to always have more than one tin of wax lying around.

And... This next piece, as I explained, isn't finished yet, but I couldn't wait any longer to share and ASK FOR OPINIONS! Someone very skilled in the chalk paint world advised I paint this piece pink... I'm not a pink girl, but I trust her...but I'm starting to worry because no one I've shown yet seems to jump for joy...  I know it's not done, and sometimes the finished product is where the magic happens and it all comes together, I guess we'll see.

Blue Wall

So my husband and I bought a small brand new condo in April. I wanted an old house that had character, but this place worked for our current needs and budget, so my dream to make the perfectly designed home I want is put on hold until we buy a house we will live in for a long time that doesn't need to be neutrally decorated to sell in a few years time. So, I can only do so much to make it a place I like.

Yesterday I got bored and painted one of the walls in our living area. It's better than the boring grey/beige it used to be.

Finally Frantically Finished

So after working for 10 hours today, and expecting guests for dinner in 30 minutes of walking in the door, I managed to finished this desk to go to the store tomorrow.

Nearly Finished

So I've been working away at larger pieces as of late, and I'm totally out of clear wax and waiting for a shipment to come in that has been held up by the hurricane, so no one piece is totally finished, but the bed from the bedroom set is done except for waxing, the large desk is literally one half done and this pain in the butt bar thing is nearly finished, but I am still working on how I want to put the letter on the top.

 The paint is literally still wet on this one. This blue colour is just the underlay colour. The table will be old ochre when it's finished. And I want to keep it...

 I'm still sorting out the wax job on this piece. I can't get it how I want it.

Sneak Preview

A whole bunch of things are on the go, or have been picked up today for refinishing. Once again, my garage is packed with stuff and I need to make a trip to the store to get rid of some of it to sell.
